21 MARCH 2026
It’s that time of year again.  A week or so of dry, warm weather means things are growing and lighter land is dry enough to take the weight of heavy tractors.  As a result we’ve started to empty of big digestate lagoon that we’ve been using to store our liquid organic fertiliser in over the winter.

The first “big spread” will see us working with our farmers a little further from the plant that farm the lighter upland soils.  Digestate will be being moved largely by HGV/ tanker, with the occasional tractor/ tanker load.  The main tankers on multiple return trips a day will be badged (see left) as usual to make them identifiable to any resident that sees them.

This first campaign is likely to last only a few days, in which time we will have mostly emptied our on site stores. a little later in the spring we’ll then be working with our more local farmers in and around the plant, on the lower, heavier soils that take longer to dry out and get going.
