The 2025 first cut of grass started and finished last week, having been delayed by the driest spring in 100 years.
The harvest, delivering and clamping has gone very smoothly. Over 240 loads were delivered to the site (making roughly 3,500 tonnes of chopped grass for ensiling over a four day period (with one day off for heavy rain). In addition, there wasn’t a single complaint to the website, email or voicemail left on the phone number regarding the tractors or drivers delivering to the site.
Each tractor and trailer was badged with the magnetic badges that identify our contractors during harvest campaigns – and we appreciate the effort they put into making everything as safe and efficient as possible.
Weather has meant that the small wholecrop harvest will likely now be in roughly two weeks, with the second grass cut delayed until later in the summer than usual (we’ll keep you posted).
